Job description
Role Overview
The Assistant Manager - Commercial supports the Commercial Manager and broader commercial team in overseeing all project-related commercial activities. This role ensures diligent management of contracts, budgets, and compliance aligned with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, subcontracts, and consultant agreements in accordance with Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) standards.
- Monitor contractor and consultant performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Track and report project budgets, forecasts, and costs to facilitate robust financial control.
- Contribute to designing procurement strategies that support Qiddiya's project vision and timelines.
- Handle processing and submission of interim and final payment applications.
- Coordinate with project controls, finance, and delivery teams to ensure precise cost tracking and cash flow forecasting.
- Maintain commercial registers recording bonds, insurances, variations, claims, and change orders.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, liaise with contractors, and identify any risks or concerns.
- Support cost optimization efforts jointly with contractors.
- Assist in resolving commercial disputes and claims by collaborating with legal and technical teams.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of commercial documentation.
- Prepare commercial reports and presentations for review by QIC senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with Qiddiya's governance, audit, and reporting requirements.
- Participate in identifying and reducing risks related to commercial and contractual matters.
- Support benchmarking, market analysis, and value engineering activities to improve project value.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years' experience in commercial roles associated with large-scale infrastructure, entertainment, or real estate projects.
- Experience with Saudi giga projects or government-backed entities is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other international contract frameworks.
- Excellent skills in analysis, negotiation, and managing stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in commercial software such as Aconex, Oracle Primavera, SAP, and Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
- Capability to perform well in dynamic, high-pressure environments involving complex stakeholder management.
