Job description
Overview
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper aids in managing daily housekeeping, recreation/health club, and laundry operations where applicable. They collaborate with team members to maintain cleanliness and upkeep in guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas. The role involves conducting inspections and ensuring corrective measures are implemented, with a focus on guest and staff satisfaction as well as budget adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate timely communication of guest room status to the Front Desk.
- Coordinate with Engineering to address guestroom maintenance requirements.
- Oversee the general cleaning schedule for the property.
- Manage work assignments based on room cleaning priorities and anticipated check-outs or discharges.
- Monitor inventory levels to guarantee sufficient supplies.
- Supervise daily housekeeping shifts ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.
- Assist in ordering guestroom and cleaning supplies, including uniforms.
- Support and supervise guestroom and public space inspections, communicating necessary improvements to staff.
- Ensure staff are equipped with appropriate supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Participate in managing departmental controllable expenses to meet or exceed budget goals.
- Understand and apply financial reports such as budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to departmental financial management.
- Handle guest complaints promptly and strive to enhance service quality.
- Empower team members to deliver excellent customer service and emphasize guest satisfaction in meetings.
- Engage in human resources functions including accident investigations, staffing supervision, enforcement of policies and disciplinary procedures, employee training, performance appraisals, interviewing and hiring, and orientation programs.
- Contribute to progressive discipline processes as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or GED with at least one year of experience in housekeeping or a related field, OR
- A two-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related discipline with no work experience required.
