Job description
Role overview
This position focuses on shaping and maintaining Combat Service Support (CSS) doctrine at the Division level and above. The appointed person will act as the steward of the CSS Knowledge Tree, ensuring doctrinal content stays updated, useful, and properly aligned across the services and Army Divisions.
Key work areas
- Convert newly developed CSS operating ideas into doctrine for Division-level and higher CSS operations, and help ensure these doctrines are distributed and adopted across the services and Army Divisions.
- Lead and coordinate the examination of current CSS doctrines with the right Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), using lessons and gaps surfaced during major exercises and training activities.
- Maintain the accuracy, usefulness, and consistency of the CSS Knowledge Tree.
- Use technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to improve doctrinal workflows, capture knowledge more effectively, and support the development of Army CSS doctrine.
Main challenge
The role requires turning changing CSS operating concepts into doctrine that is practical, clear, and applicable across different services and Army Divisions.
Candidate profile
- Applicants may come from any educational background.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in Doctrine, Training, or Operations roles is preferred, especially in logistics operations.
- Strong capability in staff writing, research, and presentation is important.
- Applicants should have solid critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate persuasively.
