Role Overview

This position involves close collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to cultivate partnerships, extract valuable industry insights, support the growth of ecosystems, and drive initiatives aligned with both the organisation’s and whole-of-government digital transformation goals. The Assistant Director will independently lead programmes and engagements, transforming strategic priorities into actionable plans and achieving tangible results through strong stakeholder engagement and cooperation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the design and rollout of industry engagement activities including programmes, forums, workshops, dialogue sessions, and partnership initiatives.
• Establish and nurture productive relationships with industry players, technology firms, trade associations, and ecosystem collaborators.
• Identify and exploit opportunities to enhance collaboration between government bodies and industry aligned with organisational goals.
• Support senior leaders in their interactions with industry partners and key stakeholders.
• Assist efforts to improve the quality, capacity, diversity, and sustainability of the supplier ecosystem.
• Help craft and apply frameworks, engagement methodologies, and feedback channels that reinforce effective industry-government partnerships.
• Spearhead initiatives to promote ecosystem development, capability enhancement, and information sharing.
• Contribute to improving supplier engagement and stakeholder experience within the organisation.
• Lead selected projects and programmes from their inception through to execution, coordinating cross-functional teams to meet targets and deliver outcomes.
• Track programme progress diligently, identify risks and issues, and propose suitable mitigation strategies.
• Champion process enhancements aimed at boosting programme efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Prepare briefing materials, presentations, reports, and recommendations to aid decision-making by management.
• Support the conceptualisation and execution of initiatives to enhance partnerships, engagement results, and ecosystem effectiveness.
• Participate in reviews and refinement of policies, procedures, and practices related to industry engagement and ecosystem development.
• Maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, other agencies, and industry partners.
• Coordinate efforts across teams to align goals, manage activities, and achieve desired results.
