Job description
Role overview
This position is responsible for managing human resource administration, coordination of training, feedback handling, and National Service (NS) engagement activities within HQ 9 Division.
Key duties
- Work with the relevant agencies to address HR and administrative matters raised by NSmen, and communicate responses directly to NSmen or their commanders.
- Partner with agencies on HR management tasks such as succession planning, resource allocation, course administration, top-ups, and performance appraisal support.
- Design and run cohesion activities for NS units to build stronger team spirit and lift morale.
- Act as the main contact for NSmen on HR and administrative concerns.
Role challenges
- Handling the complexity of the NS framework and converting its specialised needs into practical HR requirements across different ranks and levels.
- Engaging NSmen from varied backgrounds and expectations, with solutions tailored to different situations.
- Coordinating with several internal and external stakeholders, each with different priorities, while meeting timelines and maintaining accuracy.
Requirements
- A qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in HR or administrative work.
- Hands-on experience with SAP for HR administration is preferred.
- Strong interest in process management and engagement-related work.
- Good leadership qualities and the ability to organise a team effectively.
- Exposure to the NS system and military administrative procedures is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including identifying issues, developing options, evaluating them, and putting solutions into practice.
