About the Role

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), based in Dubai, UAE, is the region's inaugural accredited smart and online learning university. The institution is on the lookout for distinguished scholars devoted to pioneering online education methods to join its dynamic, learner-focused environment. Faculty are required to instruct undergraduate and graduate courses entirely online, participate in creating engaging digital course content, and produce substantial scholarly research and publications in their specializations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced courses on subjects such as Quality 4.0, research methods, service excellence, and strategy through HBMSU’s interactive smart learning platforms.
• Develop and continuously update curricula to reflect emerging trends like digital transformation and the experience economy.
• Engage in research efforts, publish in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and pursue interdisciplinary approaches including social sciences, IT, and data analytics to tackle contemporary quality management issues.
• Seek research funding opportunities to support scholarly pursuits.
• Mentor Ph.D. candidates by advising on dissertation work and research ethics.
• Organize and conduct workshops and seminars tailored for professionals in quality management.
• Contribute to program accreditation processes, participate in academic governance, collaborate in outreach activities, and actively support university life through committee involvement and campus events.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited university in relevant fields; candidates nearing completion (ABD) will be considered if completion is expected before starting.
• Proven academic excellence with demonstrated capacity to teach and publish effectively in English.
• A strong track record or promising potential in research, evidenced by submissions or working papers aimed at top-tier journals.
• Compliance with SBQM's AACSB academic qualification standards.
• Competence in delivering engaging online education for both undergraduate and graduate learners.

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside in the UAE and maintain physical presence at the campus to foster interactions, despite the courses being fully online.
• Faculty members are expected to actively engage with peers and students via online instruction as well as attend face-to-face meetings and university events.
