Role overview
ADNOC Schools is hiring an Assistant Accountant for an immediate start at the ADNOC School, Madinat Zayed Campus in Abu Dhabi, UAE (Western Region). This role offers the opportunity to work within the Aldar family of schools and contribute to one of Abu Dhabi’s leading school groups.

Key responsibilities
- Review incoming payments against bank records and confirm that cheques, cash, and bank transfers have been properly received and deposited.
- Track confirmed receipts and ensure any cash or cheques on hand are deposited without delay.
- Follow up with parents on overdue payments and cheques that have been returned.
- Handle finance-related queries and support requests from parents.
- Approve student withdrawal clearance once all outstanding balances have been settled.
- Serve as a point of contact with external auditors and provide the information they need while keeping accurate records for future reference.
- Reconcile receivables in Orisson, identify mismatches, and post the required journal entries where needed.
- Check outstanding balances for each student account in Orisson.
- Monitor unapplied receipts and allocate them to the correct unpaid invoices.
- Track unidentified deposits and reconcile them with monthly collection reports.
- Gather all supporting documents needed for fee discount requests and send them to the Central Finance team for review in the Western Region.
- Issue fee invoices and support the Head of Invoicing during term-based school invoice generation.
- Prepare and review monthly schedules covering tuition fee receivables, registration fees, unidentified amounts, confirmed receipts, unapplied receipts, refunds, bounced cheques, advances, excursions, and wherever relevant, ADNOC Group invoicing and related adjustments.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or an equivalent qualification in Accounts and Finance is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in Accounts and Finance, with particular exposure to General Ledger work.
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting is necessary.
- Experience with billing and receivables will be considered an advantage.
- Good communication skills and strong analytical ability are expected.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory.
