Role Summary

We seek an Artist Manager to champion and support the creative talent within Netflix Animation Studio. This role involves guiding artists through a welcoming, inclusive experience while partnering closely with production teams to ensure projects are sufficiently staffed with skilled individuals aligned with studio goals. The position also focuses on fostering career growth opportunities, enhancing craft skills, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet studio needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely assignment and casting of internal talent to Netflix Animation projects.
• Collaborate with Production, Talent Acquisition, Production Overhead, and Content teams to assess immediate and future staffing requirements for projects.
• Maintain ongoing engagement with talent to understand their roles, responsibilities, and professional development needs deeply.
• Work alongside department leads and Talent Development to design and implement tailored training programs and curricula.
• Proactively anticipate and forecast departmental talent needs; initiate recruitment or training strategies accordingly.
• Partner with HR Business Partners to manage talent performance, coaching, studio culture, and engagement efforts.
• Build enduring relationships with internal talent by fostering open communication, honesty, and trust.
• Boost team morale and engagement through regular meetings and community activities.
• Make diverse staffing recommendations based on comprehensive understanding of artists’ skills, experience, and career goals; collaborate with show leaders on casting.
• Identify staffing conflicts early and develop creative solutions to resource/time challenges.
• Coordinate with Talent Leadership and Compensation teams to recommend appropriate compensation and manage offer negotiation processes.
• Oversee smooth transitions and communications for talent between projects and stakeholder groups.

Required Skills and Experience

• Between 3 to 10 years experience within animation or VFX production, familiar with workflows and artistic pipelines.
• 3 to 5 years in creative leadership roles such as Artist Management, Production, or Talent Acquisition is preferred.
• Understanding of the media business landscape and the ability to predict industry trends influencing talent acquisition and retention.
• Forward-thinking leadership approach with a passion for innovation and navigating uncertain environments.
• Experience in talent casting, recruiting, succession planning, or organizational development is advantageous.
• Exceptional interpersonal, listening, and communication capabilities.
• Effective collaboration skills to work with creative leadership, content executives, and diverse teams.
• Competency with a variety of project management tools; familiarity with Google Suite, Adobe Suite, Airtable, and Microsoft Office preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Information

This position is located in Vancouver, British Columbia with a hybrid work setup requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite.

Compensation typically ranges from 116000 to 183000 CAD annually. The studio offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision plans, mental health resources, retirement options, stock programs, family-forming assistance, paid leave, and paid time off for vacation and illness.
