Job description
Position Overview
The Area Sales Manager will spearhead commercial success and capitalize on business opportunities throughout Kuwait, Bahrain, and South Africa. This multifaceted role involves managing performance across various channels such as Retail, Specialists, and E-Commerce where relevant. The manager will ensure that sales targets are met while upholding the brand's prestigious image and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement market strategies aligned with the brand’s vision, regional context, and customer expectations under the guidance of the Head of Commercial Partnership.
- Outline and drive network development plans, including exploring real estate and boutique projects across the markets.
- Enhance the High-End business segment and client experiences by collaborating with pertinent departments.
- Gain and maintain expert knowledge of local markets, competitor activity, community trends, and key events.
- Ensure sales targets are met in both internal (South Africa) and external (Kuwait and Bahrain) boutique networks.
- Produce accurate sales forecasts for various timeframes and analyze key performance indicators to identify priorities for growth.
- Work closely with the regional Merchandising team to communicate market needs and opportunities.
- Monitor partner payments, financial compliance, and budgets for commercial operations.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with local partners and store teams to maintain alignment with brand standards.
- Supervise boutique operations, including compliance with visual merchandising, product assortment, and client service standards.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing policies, procedures, and ensuring compliance across stores.
- Identify and assess new business possibilities including temporary/permanent boutiques, watch specialists, and e-commerce ventures.
- Support negotiations involving new opportunities in established markets, coordinating with internal departments like Tax, Legal, and Compliance.
- Oversee retail operations enhancements in Kuwait and Bahrain by defining staffing and organizational needs and coordinating relevant training programs.
- Ensure operational compliance and excellence within the South African boutique network by collaborating on audits and refining procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years in business development or strategic planning within luxury or similarly client-focused industries accompanied by 3 to 5 years of boutique retail experience.
- Master’s degree in Business Development, Management, or related disciplines.
- Experience operating in international and matrix organizational environments, specifically within the designated regions.
- Proven leadership, management, and influence capabilities with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen with skill in converting vision into executable plans.
- Resilient, proactive, and results-driven mindset, comfortable managing growth, complexity, and ambiguity.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking abilities.
- Arabic and/or French language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
