Job description
Role overview
This position is part of the retail HR function and works closely with store operations to support people processes across the region. The role is centered on hiring, employee engagement, learning and development, compliance, and strengthening the overall experience of retail teams.
Reporting line
The role reports to the Senior Manager HR (Retail South & West).
Key responsibilities
- Handle the complete employee journey for retail staff, covering hiring, joining formalities, engagement activities, training and development, and exit discussions.
- Support store hiring by using both internal and external sources to close vacancies within the required timelines.
- Work with retail operations leaders and store managers to understand staffing needs and contribute to people-related decisions in stores.
- Identify behavioural and skill-development needs for store teams and arrange suitable training with internal or external trainers.
- Prepare and run the monthly employee engagement calendar for stores to improve morale and strengthen team connection.
- Collect, validate, and submit payroll inputs for retail employees in a timely and accurate manner.
- Visit stores regularly to connect with employees, capture feedback, understand operational challenges, and help address employee concerns.
- Monitor attrition patterns and employee feedback, then support retention and employee experience initiatives with business leaders.
- Ensure company policies are followed across stores and support statutory compliance, including maintenance of required registers and records.
- Contribute actively to internal forums and broader people initiatives across the organization.
Eligibility and requirements
- Candidates should be pursuing or holding an MBA/PGDM with HR or a related specialization.
- About 2 to 4 years of HR experience is preferred, ideally in retail, hospitality, or another customer-facing environment.
- Experience in store hiring, employee engagement, and HR operations will be considered an advantage.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities are required.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint is expected.
- The role calls for the ability to manage several priorities and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
