Job Overview
This role is responsible for managing the Risk Containment Unit (RCU) to ensure customer onboarding is risk-free, investigating suspicious activities, and conducting various ad-hoc tasks aligned with the company's vision of becoming a leader in affordable finance through effective risk mitigation.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of modern practices in fraud detection, investigation, and analytics.
- A minimum of three years of progressive experience managing fraud detection processes within Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) or Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) focusing on mortgage lending.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire RCU process, including pre-sanction sampling and monitoring fraud savings and hit rates at the location level.
- Manage vendor and agency operations within the assigned area, focusing on turnaround times, cost control, MIS and portfolio oversight.
- Monitor and ensure error-free reporting, conduct sampler/verifier training, manage escalations, timely submission of FCU MIS and billing, and circulate fraud alerts and trend analyses.
- Implement and monitor digital initiatives like the use of Hunter tools for fraud detection, including internal duplicate and in-house checks.
- Perform thorough investigations involving customers, channels, and vendors to identify fraud points, share feedback for process strengthening, and submit fraud tracker data promptly.
- Proactively review collection data to identify gaps and participate in adhoc investigations with satisfactory closure results.
- Conduct training sessions for samplers, business teams, underwriters, and vendors to improve quality and delivery.
- Lead initiatives to build capabilities among samplers and vendors and engage in global-directed face-to-face interactions to enhance fraud identification.
- Conduct asset verifications and provide constructive feedback; identify new fraud triggers continually.
