Job Overview
The Area FCU Manager leads the Risk Containment Unit (RCU) to ensure a secure onboarding process for customers, efficient fraud investigation, and other related activities aligned with the organization's mission to excel in affordable finance through strong risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee RCU processes including pre-sanction sampling, measuring fraud savings, and fraud hit rates within the assigned location.
- Manage vendor/agency relationships, monitor process turnaround times (TAT), manage costs, and maintain MIS and portfolio reporting.
- Monitor and manage RCU performance metrics such as vendor oversight, error-free reporting, training delivery, escalation handling, and timely submission of MIS and billing.
- Drive digital initiatives including the use of the Hunter tool for fraud detection, internal duplicate searches, and in-house checks to optimize investigation outcomes.
- Lead investigations through cross-checks of internal reports, coordination with channels/vendors, and timely fraud tracker data submission.
- Participate in ad-hoc investigations ensuring satisfactory closure results and review collection data to identify gaps proactively.
- Conduct training for samplers, business teams, underwriters, and vendor FCU teams to enhance sustained quality and delivery.
- Champion initiatives for the capability building of samplers and vendors, facilitate face-to-face interactions for effective fraud identification, and initiate new fraud trigger identifications.
- Perform asset verifications and provide feedback for process improvements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong familiarity with current industry practices in fraud detection, investigation, and analytics.
- Minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience managing fraud detection processes within NBFCs or HFCs operating in the mortgage sector.
Additional Information
- Ensure process integrity and deterrent mechanisms at the sourcing level by participating in policy and process reviews.
- Maintain comprehensive reporting and timely communication of fraud trends within the region.
