Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to lead the civil works package for a large utility-scale renewable energy project north of Auckland. This position involves overseeing the entire civil delivery strategy, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and commercial goals are met throughout the project lifecycle. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and collaborating closely with the Civil Superintendent, this role requires strong leadership to coordinate engineering, construction, commercial, and project teams toward successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the civil works package, achieving safety, quality, timeline, and budget targets.
• Provide leadership and coordination among engineering, construction, commercial, and project teams.
• Collaborate with the Civil Superintendent to support site execution and construction activities.
• Identify risks, resolve complex construction issues, and implement practical solutions to sustain project progress.
• Manage project performance via forecasting, reporting, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement efforts.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have proven experience delivering complex civil infrastructure projects within New Zealand, demonstrating strong leadership and a solutions-oriented approach. They should be capable of quick assessment and adaptive decision-making in technical and dynamic environments, excelling at collaborating with teams and stakeholders to achieve positive results.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in managing complex civil infrastructure projects in New Zealand with in-depth knowledge of local construction practices, contracts, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial skills focused on delivering safe, high-quality projects within program and budget constraints.
• A proactive, solution-driven mindset with the ability to make timely decisions and overcome challenges effectively.

Experience in renewable energy, transmission, utilities, or other major infrastructure sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
