Job description

Role Overview

INTEC Energy Solutions is a major global provider of renewable energy EPC and O&M services, delivering utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage systems, and high-voltage infrastructure projects in more than 16 countries. The business supports projects from early engineering and procurement through construction and ongoing asset operations for leading developers, utilities, and investors.

As the company continues to expand across Australia and New Zealand, it is strengthening its executive team and commercial leadership capability to support the next phase of growth. The organisation is hiring a Chief Financial Officer to join the Executive Leadership Team and work closely with the CEO and international leadership.

This position goes well beyond standard finance oversight. It is a strategic leadership role focused on business direction, commercial performance, organisational development, and the creation of lasting enterprise value.

What You Will Lead

Reporting to the CEO, you will act as a trusted commercial advisor and a highly influential member of the leadership team. You will contribute across the full business, providing financial direction to a complex multi-project EPC and O&M operation delivering renewable energy infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand.

  • Executive strategy and long-term business growth
  • Commercial performance and project profitability
  • Capital allocation and investment choices
  • Finance transformation and organisational capability
  • Corporate governance and enterprise risk
  • Funding strategy, treasury, and banking partnerships
  • Strategic growth initiatives and long-term expansion

Success will be measured by financial results as well as the enterprise value created through disciplined capital deployment, commercial leadership, and a scalable, high-performing finance function.

Key Priorities

Your remit will extend well beyond traditional finance responsibilities. You will help set strategic direction, strengthen commercial outcomes, and develop the financial capability needed to support a fast-growing EPC business across the full project lifecycle, from development and engineering through procurement, construction, and long-term operations.

  • Work with the CEO to shape strategy and support sound executive decisions.
  • Improve project profitability, forecasting, reporting, and operational visibility across a complex EPC portfolio.
  • Build a finance function that is scalable, best-practice, and supported by strong governance, systems, reporting, and business intelligence.
  • Design funding approaches, manage banking relationships, and support acquisitions and other capital-led growth opportunities.
  • Strengthen working capital, treasury management, and financial risk controls to improve cash performance and enable sustainable growth.

About You

You are a commercially minded finance leader who excels in fast-growing, project-driven environments and enjoys building businesses rather than only reporting on them. You are comfortable in senior leadership discussions and also effective with operational teams, combining strategic judgement with practical commercial thinking.

To be effective in this role, you will bring deep financial leadership experience, strong stakeholder influence, and the ability to guide decisions across the organisation.

  • Successful background as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance executive in EPC, engineering, construction, infrastructure, energy, or other project-based sectors.
  • Substantial experience partnering with CEOs and executive teams to drive strategy and commercial results.
  • Proven ability to lift profitability, cash flow, and governance across complex project portfolios.
  • Experience leading finance transformation, including systems, reporting, business intelligence, and capability building.
  • Strong expertise in project accounting, financial reporting, treasury, risk management, and IFRS.

Above all, you are an authentic leader who develops high-performing teams, questions established approaches, and creates enduring commercial value. You thrive in growth environments, handle complexity confidently, and are motivated by the chance to help shape a business at the centre of the renewable energy transition.

Why Join INTEC

This is a rare opportunity to join a global renewable energy business at a crucial growth point and help shape its future direction.

  • Work directly with the CEO, Board, and international leadership team.
  • Help influence business strategy and major commercial decisions.
  • Lead the transformation of a strong finance function.
  • Contribute to nationally significant renewable energy infrastructure projects in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Shape the organisation's long-term commercial, funding, and growth strategy.
  • Build your career in a globally recognised company focused on innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Application Note

Confidential applications are invited from candidates who want to use commercial leadership, strategic thinking, and financial expertise to influence the direction of a global renewable energy business.
