Job description

Overview

Nottinghamshire County Council seeks to hire two Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) to join the Improving Lives Countywide AMHP Team. These roles are essential for complying with mental health legislation and delivering high-quality, strength-based mental health services.

Role Details

  • Fixed term position for 12 months.
  • Full-time, 37 hours per week, working three 12-hour shifts weekly.
  • Location: Sherwood Oaks Hospital, Mansfield, NG18 4GW.
  • The AMHP service operates 24 hours, and candidates will support colleagues on a similar 12-hour shift pattern.

Responsibilities

  • Execute statutory duties under the Mental Health Act in accordance with local authority requirements.
  • Provide training, supervision, and coaching to colleagues and AMHP trainees.
  • Participate in a single point triage system to assess and coordinate mental health needs.
  • Support Team Managers and meet the evolving demands of the AMHP team.

Requirements

  • Must be a qualified and currently practicing Approved Mental Health Professional or possess an equivalent AMHP qualification.
