Role summary

This position is responsible for steering category strategy for selected food and beverage segments across Asia Pacific. It converts global innovation direction into practical category plans that support long-term growth, while working closely with international, scientific, and R&D partners. The role owns the regional category portfolio and uses market and customer insight to identify gaps, growth opportunities, and innovation priorities. It also guides the innovation pipeline from opportunity discovery through launch, making sure solutions are commercially relevant and supported by strong, science-led value propositions. In addition, the role contributes to regional category governance and cross-functional programmes, partnering with business leaders to align stakeholders and move strategic priorities forward across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead APAC category strategy for selected sweet and savoury food and beverage segments.
  • Translate global innovation priorities into clear category plans that support regional business growth.
  • Manage the regional category portfolio and spot portfolio gaps, market opportunities, and innovation needs through customer and market insights.
  • Steer innovation projects from opportunity assessment through to launch readiness.
  • Build commercially strong, science-based value propositions for new solutions.
  • Work with international, scientific, R&D, commercial, and business leadership teams to align priorities and execution.
  • Support category governance and broader cross-functional initiatives across Asia Pacific.
  • Help accelerate strategic programmes by coordinating stakeholders and driving follow-through.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical subject such as Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology.
  • Background in technical, innovation, R&D, or B2B marketing/commercial roles within the food or flavour industry.
  • At least 8 years of experience in technical or innovation-led environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence commercial teams, marketing stakeholders, and external customers.
  • Strong capability in product knowledge development.
  • Experience working across technical, innovation, and commercial functions.
  • Solid project management and structured execution skills.
  • Comfortable operating at a regional level with both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
