Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic ANZ Tunnelling Lead to steer our tunnelling practice across Australia and New Zealand. This role offers a unique chance to influence major underground infrastructure developments, lead cutting-edge projects, and foster strong client partnerships. The successful candidate will drive growth and build a high-performing team ready to meet the region's expanding demand for tunnelling expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the tunnelling practice, guiding strategic project pursuits and business growth.
  • Offer technical oversight and expert advice on complex tunnelling projects, including TBM, mined, shaft, trenchless, cavern, and hydro works.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients, contractors, and industry partners.
  • Mentor and cultivate the skills of the next generation of tunnelling professionals.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
  • Leverage AECOM’s global network to deliver exceptional infrastructure outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in major tunnelling and underground infrastructure projects within Australia.
  • Strong technical expertise in various tunnelling methods and underground construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client and industry relationships.
  • Recognition as a technical authority with sound engineering judgment.
  • Proven track record of winning and successfully delivering tunnelling projects.
  • Leadership skills that inspire trust, confidence, and teamwork.
  • Active participation in industry organizations and professional networks.

The ANZ region is witnessing a surge in underground infrastructure investment, including metro systems, pumped hydro, water security, and energy projects.
