Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and creative Landscape Architect to join our Urbanism + Planning team based in the United Arab Emirates. This role entails crafting innovative landscape designs and managing their execution from conceptualization through to finishing stages. You will partner with diverse teams, clients, and contractors to produce outdoor environments that harmonize artistic vision, practicality, and environmental responsibility. This position involves handling a variety of projects in a growing urban market, significantly influencing the regional landscape.

Key Duties

  • Develop detailed landscape concepts and master plans for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments using industry-standard digital design tools.
  • Perform extensive site assessments and feasibility analyses considering Abu Dhabi's climate, soil, water management, and environmental specifics.
  • Prepare precise technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation to communicate design goals effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Lead design development stages from initial ideas to finalized construction documents, ensuring alignment with project and client goals.
  • Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and other professionals to integrate landscape architecture within comprehensive project designs.
  • Implement sustainable landscaping approaches including water-saving measures, use of native flora, and strategies adapted to local climate conditions.
  • Create and deliver design presentations to clients, adapting plans based on feedback through iterative improvements.
  • Supervise project implementation by coordinating with contractors, conducting site inspections, and ensuring quality standards are upheld.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to guarantee efficient, cost-effective completion.
  • Remain informed about industry advancements, novel design approaches, and regulatory changes affecting landscape architecture in the UAE.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' professional experience in landscape architecture with proven capability in both design and project execution.
  • Expertise in 3D visualization software such as SketchUp, Revit, or comparable BIM platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of landscape design theory, spatial planning, and site analysis techniques.
  • Experience utilizing GIS and digital mapping tools for environmental evaluation and site assessment.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite for creating compelling presentations and visualizations.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable landscape design and environmental conservation best practices.
