Design Manager / Design Lead – Architecture

Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and innovative Design Manager or Design Lead to spearhead architectural projects, guiding them from initial concept through detailed design phases to final delivery for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and drive the architectural concept, shaping the design vision and overall direction.
• Individually develop and enhance architectural designs progressing from concept to detailed stages.
• Lead and oversee the architectural design team, offering clear direction and expert technical support.
• Ensure quality control of drawings, BIM models, presentations, and all design deliverables.
• Coordinate architectural designs in collaboration with Structural, MEP, Landscape, Interior Design, and other related disciplines.
• Conduct client presentations, design reviews, and facilitate design development meetings.
• Ensure adherence to the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and relevant building codes, regulations, standards, and local authority requirements applicable in Riyadh and Saudi Arabia.
• Assess designs for constructability, functionality, detailing, materials, and execution feasibility.
• Manage the process from initial concept to a fully coordinated detailed design package ready for client submission.
• Maintain architectural integrity and vision in the final design while ensuring compliance with technical and construction requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• A minimum of 10 years of comprehensive architectural design experience.
• Portfolio showcasing advanced conceptual and architectural design skills.
• Proven leadership in managing projects from initial concept to detailed design phases.
• Hands-on construction and project execution experience with a solid understanding of translating designs into built projects.
• Experience with villas, residential buildings, commercial projects, and mixed-use developments.
• Excellent knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC), local regulations, standards, and authorities in Riyadh.
• Strong grasp of construction methods, materials, architectural detailing, and buildability issues.
• Demonstrated leadership in supervising and mentoring architectural teams.
• Previous work on projects located in Saudi Arabia is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Revit / BIM technologies.
• Skilled in AutoCAD for architectural drafting.
• Experience using SketchUp for 3D modeling.
• Familiarity with 3ds Max for rendering purposes.
• Competence in Lumion or Enscape visualization tools.
• Adobe Photoshop expertise for graphic enhancements.
• Knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator considered a plus.
