Senior Interior Designer

About the Role

UMQ Co. seeks a highly skilled and creative Senior Interior Designer to enhance our expanding team based in Jeddah. This opportunity suits a seasoned interior design professional specializing in commercial interiors and fit-out projects, with the ability to steer projects from concept through construction documentation and final delivery.

The ideal candidate will blend imaginative design with technical proficiency to ensure superior quality outcomes that align with client goals, budgets, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire interior design lifecycle from initial concept to project finalization.
• Create innovative and practical design concepts tailored to client needs, brand identity, and project aims.
• Develop detailed floor plans, layouts, mood boards, design presentations, and material palettes.
• Generate exhaustive technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and joinery details necessary for construction.
• Organize and coordinate FF&E packages, material schedules, finishes, and furniture specifications.
• Assess shop drawings and material submissions to verify they meet the intended design criteria.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP consultants, structural engineers, contractors, and project managers through all project phases.
• Regularly visit sites to supervise design implementation and address on-site technical challenges.
• Engage actively in client meetings, design workshops, and presentations, delivering expert design advice.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, industry standards, and fit-out protocols.
• Simultaneously manage several projects maintaining high design quality within allocated budgets and schedules.
• Provide mentorship to junior designers and uphold superior design standards within the team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related fields.
• More than eight years of professional interior design experience, ideally focused on commercial, hospitality, workplace, or fit-out sectors.
• A robust portfolio showing concept innovation, technical detailing, and successful project completion.
• In-depth expertise in space planning, design progression, detailing, and construction documentation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of interior materials, finishes, furniture systems, joinery detailing, and FF&E specifications.
• Strong familiarity with local construction norms and fit-out execution techniques.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Revit and 3D rendering tools like 3ds Max, Enscape, Lumion, or V-Ray is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of building codes, accessibility regulations, and construction coordination.
• Excellent communication, presentation, analytical problem solving, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, handle multiple deadlines, and excel in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
