Job Overview
This role is a contract position based in Charlotte, NC, lasting 3 to 4 months with potential for extension or transition to full-time employment. The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Analyst operates within the Financial Crimes Risk Management team, focusing on investigating and reporting suspicious financial activities related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reviews of assigned cases, assessing key customer information such as name variations, date of birth, and address to identify potential matches.
- Use a decision matrix tool to determine whether cases should be escalated to Level 1 analysts or disproved, documenting all disposition rationales for quality assurance purposes.
- Ensure adherence to AML regulations and internal compliance policies during case reviews.
- Engage in AML compliance training and remain updated on emerging financial crime threats and trends.
Required Experience and Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail, especially in high-volume work environments.
- Effective time management and organization skills.
- Expertise in AML regulations, including adverse media sources, predicate crimes, and customer risk implications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in banking, finance, or a related field.
- Excellent active listening skills.
Additional Information
- Approximate time spent in meetings is two hours weekly.
- Minimal interaction with internal personnel.
- Contractors will have access to customer data.
