Business overview

The North America Sector IB & M&A Advisory team sits within BNP Paribas Global Banking and serves clients in the U.S. and Canada. The platform supports the full investment banking product set, including mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, and leveraged finance. It advises multinational corporations and financial sponsors on complex strategic transactions such as acquisitions, asset sales, IPOs, follow-on offerings, and leveraged buyout financings. Industry coverage includes Diversified Industrials, Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, Low Carbon Transition, and Financial Institutions.

What you will do

• Assist with originating and executing investment banking transactions.
• Support M&A, ECM, and leveraged finance deals, coordinating with all involved parties.
• Build pitch materials and presentation decks, backed by company and industry research.
• Develop detailed financial models, including valuation work and merger consequences analysis.
• Gather market intelligence, analyze competitors, and help assess potential deal opportunities.
• Partner closely with Managing Directors, Directors, Vice Presidents, and Associates on client management and delivery.
• Develop strong working relationships and maintain credibility across internal teams.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative capability.
• Self-driven, entrepreneurial, and collaborative mindset.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality output.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Working knowledge of accounting and valuation concepts.

Preferred background

• Previous investment banking experience, ideally with exposure to M&A, ECM, and leveraged finance.
• Professional experience in valuation and financial modelling.

Licensing requirements

• Series 63, Series 79, and SIE registrations are required.
• CFTC Swap Dealer Associated Person: not applicable.
• SEC Security-Based Swap Dealer Associated Person: not applicable.

Compensation and benefits

The expected starting salary range is $110,000 to $130,000 per year. Actual pay may differ depending on experience, skills, time in role, internal peer compensation, prior performance, business line, and location.

The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) Savings Plan; backup childcare; life, accident, and disability insurance; mental health support; and paid time off. Eligibility for a discretionary bonus will be shared during the hiring process.
