Role Overview
The Real Estate Asset Management Analyst will work full-time on-site in Toronto, Ontario. The role involves supporting active management of real estate assets by monitoring property performance, producing regular asset and portfolio reports, as well as assisting with valuations and financial modeling. The analyst will conduct market and property research, evaluate investment performance, and aid decision-making for acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and capital expenditure planning. Daily duties include coordinating with internal teams and external partners, upkeeping precise asset data, supporting due diligence processes, and contributing to strategies that enhance asset value and reduce risk. Preparation of presentations and conveying key analysis to senior management is also included.
Responsibilities
- Analyze acquisitions and asset management initiatives.
- Support senior analysts by conducting analyses and preparing investment and acquisition materials.
- Assist in preparing comprehensive quarterly and monthly reports and any other executive management requests.
- Develop and maintain financial models related to asset management and investments.
- Organize and coordinate due diligence and underwriting documentation.
- Perform real estate market research including tracking deal flow and maintaining market data.
- Evaluate Firm Capital's real estate portfolio operational performance against industry benchmarks.
- Support preparation of investment memorandums, board memos, pitch decks, marketing materials, and additional management reports.
- Fulfill additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience in multi-residential asset management, property management, or real estate finance/banking within Canada or the United States.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, or Real Estate is mandatory.
- Understanding of fundamental accounting principles relevant to rental revenue, leasing, building expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Professional certifications or progression towards CFA, CPA, or real estate-focused credentials are advantageous.
