Job description

About Alta Exchange

Alta Exchange stands as Asia's foremost securities brokerage, regulated exchange, and fund management platform specializing in alternative investments. Established in 2016 and headquartered in Singapore, Alta is a key player in building vital capital market infrastructure that promotes entrepreneurship, job creation, financial inclusion, and economic resilience across emerging markets.

The company empowers private markets through its Digital Exchange, facilitating tokenization and digital custody of alternative assets, enabling smoother and faster trades of smaller asset blocks for enhanced accessibility and liquidity. Its offerings include securities trading, distribution of products such as equities, private credit, funds, and asset-backed securities (representing real-world assets like whiskies, wines, art, watches, and real estate), alongside fund management and digital custody services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing private market secondary transactions, focusing on brokered deals involving private company shares and fund interests.
  • Support placement of alternative investments by aligning transaction profiles with investor preferences, mandates, and risk tolerance.
  • Manage ongoing deal processes from screening to closure, including data room oversight, due diligence coordination, timely follow-ups, and stakeholder communication.
  • Liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners to ensure transaction progress with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Handle multiple simultaneous opportunities across varying strategies, structures, and timelines.
  • Maintain and build relationships with family offices, institutional investors, venture capital, and private equity firms, understanding their investment focuses, sizes, and portfolio strategies.
  • Monitor investor feedback to refine placement approaches and enhance future targeting.
  • Keep an organized investor coverage database to improve deal matching and relationship continuity.
  • Analyze investment opportunities critically, considering business robustness, valuations, transaction terms, liquidity, and risks.
  • Conduct due diligence on issuers, funds, and deal structures to aid decision-making and client discussions.
  • Evaluate deal mechanics such as valuation, share classes, fee arrangements, liquidity rights, and other key structural aspects.
  • Create clear, concise summaries of complex transaction details for internal and investor understanding.
  • Prepare marketing collateral including teasers, investor summaries, screening notes, deal write-ups, and custom outreach materials.
  • Present investment opportunities persuasively and transparently, emphasizing benefits and risks.
  • Draft and fine-tune investor communication, ensuring accuracy, appropriate tone, and clarity.
  • Serve as a dependable coordination contact across investors, management, legal teams, and internal stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • 1-2 years' experience in sales, business development, or relationship management within private capital markets or financial services.
  • Fresh graduates holding a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or related fields with a strong interest in private capital markets are encouraged to apply, especially those available immediately.
  • Keen interest in private markets, secondaries, and investor placement mechanics.
  • Commercially astute with the capability to blend analytical rigor and practical execution.
  • Proficient research and analytical skills geared towards scalable growth initiatives.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Team-oriented with experience collaborating with technology and marketing departments to enhance workflows.
  • Negotiation experience or ability to deliver effective elevator pitches is advantageous.
  • Capable of presenting information clearly to both internal teams and external investors.
