About the Role
Join National Bank Financial Inc. (NBF) as an Investment Banking Analyst or Associate focused on the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure sector with an emphasis on Renewables in New York City. You will work closely with senior banking professionals on diverse transactions, gaining valuable exposure to the business and industry insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed presentation decks to aid clients in making capital-related decisions.
- Assist in executing mergers and acquisitions transactions.
- Assess and analyze financial needs of corporate clients by constructing intricate financial models and performing valuation analyses.
- Conduct thorough industry and company research as well as analysis.
- Support deal teams in transaction structuring and carry out advisory and financing mandates with increasing responsibility over time.
- Perform various support tasks to aid senior team members in deal execution and client engagement.
About the Team
NBF is a fully integrated investment bank with a strong footprint in the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure domain, particularly in North America. The team, currently about 15 members, is expanding its presence in New York City and offers on-the-job training, mentorship, and occasional third-party financial modeling and tool training. Alongside expert analysis and financial modeling, team members must demonstrate strong client and colleague interaction skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- For Associate level, a minimum one year of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, equity research, or capital markets.
- Solid understanding of fundamental financial theories, accounting principles, and capital markets.
- Previous experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, or corporate finance is preferred.
- Experience or knowledge in the power, utilities, and infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a collaborative mindset and excellent team spirit.
- Outstanding interpersonal abilities for building trusted relationships.
- Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $115,000 and $200,000 per year with eligibility for variable compensation. Benefits upon hiring include:
