Job Description

SOCOTEC is seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Emissions Monitoring Technician to join our Environment & Safety – Air & Emissions division. This role is ideal for individuals interested in industrial emissions testing and who are comfortable working on client sites. The position requires confidence in supporting MCERTS and UKAS-accredited emissions testing activities while adhering to safety protocols. A genuine interest in environmental monitoring is crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate and technically sound emissions testing and generate comprehensive reports for a diverse client base.
• Ensure all work is performed safely, strictly following the company’s Integrated Management System policies and procedures.
• Assist the Team Leader in the maintenance, servicing, and calibration of specialized emissions monitoring equipment, ensuring UKAS traceability in accordance with ISO 17025 standards.
• Support on-site MCERTS and UKAS-accredited emissions testing at industrial facilities and regulated client locations.
• Perform site-specific risk assessments, following established training, to guarantee safe and compliant operations.
• Collaborate effectively, both independently and as part of a team, to meet company and client performance targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications and Skills

• A background in a scientific field or a related discipline is preferred.
• Possession of a full driving licence is required.
• A foundational understanding of Environmental Legislation and the necessity of industrial emissions testing.
• Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Comfort working at heights is essential.
• Proficiency in IT, particularly with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
