Role Overview

The AI Upskilling Lead role is a senior individual contributor position responsible for developing and expanding a learning system that supports GenAI adoption within public sector audiences. The position involves designing the learning framework, defining the course portfolio, managing the delivery platform nationally, and representing the organization's learning capabilities in regional AI discussions. The primary goal is to facilitate adoption by aligning educational efforts closely with government use cases supported by Scale AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, selection, and deployment of the learning management system (LMS), incorporating certification and digital badging as scalable elements for national reach.
• Create and maintain a course catalog designed to build AI proficiency and drive adoption of Scale's use cases, ensuring easy discoverability to attract relevant teams.
• Design and implement flagship learning programs, starting with an expandable foundational AI literacy course adaptable across diverse audiences and markets.
• Develop metrics linking learning activities directly to adoption results instead of merely tracking course completion.
• Customize programs for various regions prioritizing localization—including language, institutional context, and cultural norms—during the design phase.
• Establish replicable delivery frameworks to enable program scaling without repeated development in each market.
• Collaborate with delivery partners and national training organizations as necessary for local execution.
• Conduct workshops and briefings for a range of public sector audiences from team members to senior executives.
• Translate complex GenAI concepts into accessible formats for non-technical stakeholders, leveraging a solid technical background.
• Partner with marketing and events teams to orchestrate speaking engagements and public forums that showcase Scale's AI learning leadership.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum eight years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or enablement with proven ownership of learning platforms or programs at scale, preferably in the public sector.
• Hands-on expertise in managing LMS platforms, including selection, deployment, or scaling, beyond just content creation.
• Strong technical understanding of GenAI, capable of teaching complex topics tailored to audience proficiency levels.
• Experience adapting learning programs for multiple geographies, with localization integrated from the start.
• Approach learning as a tool to drive real technology adoption rather than just education.
• Exceptional facilitation skills with confidence presenting to senior government officials and diverse groups; proficiency in both Arabic and English preferred.
• Passionate about advances in learning, ideally with an active role in producing AI learning content on social platforms, indicating familiarity with micro-learning and social-native formats (though personal branding is not mandatory).
• Able to thrive in fast-moving, uncertain environments with strong ownership mentality.

Success Milestones

• Within six months: finalize LMS strategy, launch foundational program with certification/badging, establish course catalog aligned with live use cases, deliver two audience-focused tracks with positive feedback and early adoption, and complete at least one public engagement with marketing collaboration.
• Within twelve months: operating LMS ecosystem across multiple markets with demonstrable localization, course catalog actively promoting use case adoption, public sector recognition of Scale's credible learning efforts, and implementation of a repeatable enablement framework linking learning to adoption.

Additional Information for Qatar-based Candidates

Employment and residency require Qatari government approval, including necessary visas and permits. Applicants will be requested to provide residency status and nationality for visa processing compliant with local laws. Visa issuance is at governmental discretion. Successful applicants must provide required documents to support visa applications, and Scale AI will assist throughout the process.
