This role requires a strong blend of leadership, analytical thinking, communication, and the ability to improve operations in a busy, patient-first healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily functioning of major hospital areas such as OPD, IPD, diagnostics, pharmacy, support services, and facilities.
  • Improve resource use, patient movement, and service turnaround times.
  • Work closely with departmental teams to track clinical and non-clinical operations and handle escalations effectively.
  • Partner with leadership to design and implement operational plans that support hospital objectives.
  • Manage hiring, performance reviews, training, appraisal cycles, and retention for suitable staff.
  • Launch new process improvements and track KPIs to strengthen productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and accreditation readiness for NABH, NABL, and JCI, along with clinical indicators, patient care standards, facility operations, and quality initiatives.
  • Track patient feedback and grievance handling processes to improve service experience.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning for operational activities.
  • Oversee quality assurance efforts and patient safety programs.
  • Supervise facility functions including housekeeping, security, maintenance, and biomedical equipment.
  • Handle vendor coordination and service contracts to ensure value-for-money procurement and dependable service delivery.
  • Strengthen patient satisfaction through quick service, efficient admission and discharge processes, and compassionate care.
  • Coordinate with front office, billing, and medical records teams to deliver a seamless patient journey.
  • Prepare recurring reports on operational performance, patient volumes, utilization, and cost-related factors.
  • Present monthly and quarterly dashboards to senior management for review and decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should be graduates or postgraduates with at least 15 years of progressive experience in hospital operations, ideally in institutions with 300+ beds. A Master’s degree in Hospital Administration (MHA), an MBA in Hospital Management, or an equivalent qualification is preferred. Additional training in leadership, quality assurance, or healthcare management is an advantage.
