Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a diligent and safety-conscious Aerodrome Reporting Officer / Groundsperson to contribute to the secure and smooth functioning of Tennant Creek Airport daily operations. This practical position involves upholding operational standards across both airside and landside areas and ensuring compliance with applicable aviation, safety, security, and environmental regulations.
Primary Duties
- Conduct thorough and regular inspections of airside and terminal activities.
- Provide reports concerning aerodrome usability, safety hazards, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Perform duties associated with the Aerodrome Reporting Officer and Works Safety Officer as necessary.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies within the airport and terminal.
- Assist in maintaining airport facilities including landscaping, painting, minor pavement repairs, and civil works.
- Support compliance with CASA regulations and company policies.
- Maintain positive collaborative relationships with tenants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Promote a culture prioritizing safety above all else.
- Identify and manage risks following the company’s Risk Management Framework.
- Contribute to an environmentally responsible and safety-focused workplace.
- Comply with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Management Plan.
- Operate within Safety Sensitive Aviation Activity guidelines.
- Adhere to company cyber security policies to detect and handle related threats.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in airport operations, groundskeeping, civil works, or related fields is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols, operational procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Hands-on, practical approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Willing to participate in emergency response actions and on-call duties when required.
