Position Overview

We are seeking an admitted solicitor to collaborate closely with the Principal Lawyer and support the team in handling an expanding workload. This role provides opportunities for significant professional growth and fast-tracked career advancement within the legal sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Principal Lawyer and team in managing a busy boutique legal practice.
• Handle complex and varied matters involving criminal, family, and civil litigation independently.
• Manage files autonomously while working closely with the Principal on cases.
• Attend courts for hearings, mentions, procedural hearings, conciliation conferences, mediations, interim hearings, and assist with instructing counsel for trials.
• Conduct legal research and draft court documents such as statements of claim, affidavits, orders, case outlines, and submissions.
• Provide independent advice to clients, including taking instructions, preparing advisory letters, handling correspondence, and overseeing file management.
• Engage in direct client consultations and conferencing.

Required Skills and Experience

• Admission as a solicitor in New South Wales with post-qualification experience.
• Experience managing cases in Local, District, Supreme Federal Circuit Courts, and Family Courts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Capable of representing clients in court hearings and managing court appearances independently.
• Proactive, positive "can-do" approach toward family and civil law matters.
• Sound understanding of criminal, family, and civil litigation laws.
• Strong legal drafting and writing abilities.
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills to prioritize competing deadlines.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting, efficiently organizing workload.
• Familiarity with PEXA and LEAP is advantageous but not mandatory.
