Job description

Job Overview

This role involves serving as the Inmate Disciplinary Recorder responsible for processing informal and administrative resolutions within the correctional institution. The position requires entry of necessary data into the Offender Management System (OMS), completion of disciplinary documentation, and adherence to timelines to support the minor hearing officer with maintaining accurate inmate disciplinary records aligned with agency guidelines.

Key Duties

  • Function as the Inmate Disciplinary Recorder for both Informal and Administrative Resolutions.
  • Accurately input necessary information into OMS and complete relevant disciplinary forms.
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines to assist in disciplinary recordkeeping according to South Carolina Department of Corrections policies.
  • Provide backup support for the Major Disciplinary Recorder during absences.

Additional Training and Requirements

Successful completion of four weeks of South Carolina Department of Corrections Basic Training following hire is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent; equivalent clerical experience may substitute for diploma requirements.
  • Relevant clerical experience is preferred.
