Job description
Position Overview
The Acquisition Manager role at Ujjivan Small Finance Bank focuses primarily on acquiring new customers for liability products from open markets, supporting unsecured loan conversions, and enhancing cross-selling relationships with existing clients. The incumbent will be based at a branch location, reporting directly to the Branch Sales Manager under the Branch Banking department.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet liability acquisition targets through multiple channels including personal leads, branch-generated leads, customer referrals, and alternative channels.
- Maintain a prospect database, engage with select customers, and nurture ongoing relationships.
- Support CRS-Unsecured loans officers in converting existing borrowers to liability product customers.
- Cross-sell secured loan products and provide quality leads to loan officers.
- Provide customer insights and product feedback to the Sales Manager - Liabilities.
- Deliver courteous, professional service to customers and proactively engage them to reduce dormancy and attrition.
- Resolve customer queries related to accounts, fixed/deposit receipts, remittances, and third-party products.
- Guide customers through account opening procedures, ensuring proper KYC documentation and compliance.
- Promote alternative transaction channels such as ATMs and banking correspondents, assisting customers as needed.
- Stay informed on liability products and other branch product offerings to support sales and service.
- Resolve product-related queries from CRS-Unsecured loan officers and support their sales efforts.
- Complete all mandated training and participate in performance appraisal processes timely.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Graduate degree, preferably in commerce or related fields.
- Over 3 years of sales experience, ideally in banking or retail sales environment.
- Certification in AMFI or IRDA is required.
- Basic understanding of retail banking products and documentation procedures.
- Strong focus on process compliance and KYC norms adherence.
- Fluent communication skills in the local language.
- Possess courteous customer service capabilities and time management proficiency.
- Effective selling skills, including cold calling ability over the phone.
- Willingness to travel and relocate as per business needs and career growth opportunities.

Interactions

Additional Information
This is a full-time onsite position based at the branch location. The position grade is DM-I under Branch Banking with no direct supervisory responsibilities. All operational, training, review, and appraisal timelines must be followed as prescribed. The incumbent is responsible for fully complying with all KYC and procedural mandates.
