Job description
Role overview
This is a senior finance leadership role focused on managing the complete accounts receivable function for a fast-scaling, high-transaction, technology-led business. The manager will own billing, collections, cash posting, and account reconciliation while maintaining clear visibility into cash flow and ensuring the accuracy of financial records across a varied customer portfolio.
The role blends day-to-day operational ownership with broader process leadership. A key part of the job is improving receivables performance, lowering days sales outstanding, and building scalable workflows that support growth. You will also guide and develop the AR team, work closely with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Finance leadership, and help improve the customer payment journey from invoice to collection.
This position is highly visible and has a direct impact on financial health, forecasting quality, and business expansion. It also involves expanding automation, strengthening reporting, and using modern tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to make AR operations more efficient.
Recruitment and application flow
This role is being promoted on behalf of a partner organization that will handle applications and all later hiring steps. Candidates selected through the matching process will be shared directly with the hiring company, and their internal team will manage interviews, assessments, and the final decision.
Key responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the receivables cycle, covering invoicing, collections, cash application, account reconciliation, and monthly AR close work.
- Track aging, DSO, reserves, and potential bad debt exposure, and ensure overdue balances are resolved promptly.
- Create and run collection approaches suited to different customer groups, risk profiles, and account types.
- Handle complex and escalated accounts, including disputes, payment arrangements, and coordination with outside collection partners when needed.
- Lead, coach, and support AR team members while maintaining performance standards and operational accountability.
- Work with Sales, Account Management, and Finance to fix billing issues and improve the order-to-cash workflow.
- Maintain reliable AR dashboards and KPI reporting to support forecasting and executive visibility.
- Spot opportunities to improve processes and introduce automation or AI-based tools that raise speed and accuracy.
- Assist with audits, compliance obligations, and financial reporting requirements alongside Accounting and Finance leadership.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, including 2 or more years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Deep working knowledge of AR operations such as billing, collections, cash application, aging review, and DSO management.
- Prior experience in high-volume environments, including SaaS, subscription billing, or usage-based billing models.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams in a fast-moving, results-oriented setting.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including formulas, reporting, and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with ERP or billing platforms such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or comparable systems.
- Strong analytical ability, practical problem-solving skills, and the confidence to explain financial matters to non-finance colleagues.
- Experience improving AR processes, collections workflows, and automation efficiency is strongly preferred.
- The ability to juggle multiple priorities, maintain discipline in execution, and keep a high level of detail in day-to-day work.
Benefits and perks
- Competitive pay with performance-linked incentives.
- Fully remote work setup within the United States.
- A broad benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings coverage.
- Flexible paid time off and paid holidays to support work-life balance.
- Wellness programs focused on mental, physical, and financial well-being.
- The chance to contribute in a rapidly growing, technology-driven company.
- A collaborative, accountable, and improvement-focused work culture.
- Exposure to modern finance operations, including automation and AI-enabled tools.
Additional information
The company uses an AI-assisted matching process to review applications quickly and fairly against the main requirements of the role. Suitable candidates are shortlisted and passed to the hiring employer for the next stage of the process. The role is subject to standard data processing practices used for recruitment, including evaluation of application materials and related verification signals where applicable.
