Role Purpose
This position is an 18-month contract role for an Accounts Payable Officer responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable activities. Key tasks include managing invoice processing, conducting payment runs, maintaining vendor records, handling finance administration, driving process enhancements, and fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices promptly ensuring correct coding
- Prepare and verify payment batch files
- Assist with raising purchase orders when needed
- Maintain vendor information accurately
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve invoice issues and outstanding balances
- Coordinate with internal teams to address queries and resolve payment matters
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory requirements, GS007 standards, and internal controls
- Propose and support continuous improvements and finance initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements
- Preferred: Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or finance
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and efficient time management skills
- Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with capacity to work independently
- Adaptive and proactive approach in a changing environment
- Good problem-solving aptitude
- Discretion and professionalism in managing confidential financial data with proper data handling procedures
Desirable Skills
- Prior experience in the real estate sector
- Familiarity with Yardi ERP accounting software
- Understanding of data privacy and security best practices, particularly when interacting with external AI platforms
- Experience incorporating AI tools into daily workflows to enhance quality and efficiency
- Competence in auditing AI-generated data to ensure accuracy and integrity
