Role Summary
The Accounts Payable Manager will lead the comprehensive accounts payable operations across three global legal entities. The role involves managing supplier invoice processing, maintaining excellent vendor relations, ensuring prompt and precise payments, and guiding a team responsible for invoice processing. This position will be pivotal in enhancing process efficiencies, resolving escalations, and upholding strict financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts payable functions across multiple entities and countries.
- Review and validate invoice documentation and processing accuracy.
- Manage vendor setup including documentation and banking details.
- Ensure supplier invoices are processed accurately and within set timelines.
- Prepare and audit quarterly vendor accruals and assist in monthly financial reporting.
- Review and execute payment runs, ensuring adherence to approval workflows and controls.
- Collaborate with Treasury and Finance teams to optimize cash flow and payment scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with payment regulations across jurisdictions.
- Serve as the main escalation point for vendor queries, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
- Maintain strong relationships and communication with key vendors.
- Perform regular vendor account reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve outstanding balances.
- Maintain and enforce internal financial controls within AP processes.
- Support internal and external audit procedures.
- Provide regular reports on AP performance metrics such as invoice volume, processing times, and overdue payments.
- Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, and other departments for seamless operations.
- Support month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
- Lead and develop the AP processor team, establishing KPIs, providing coaching, training, and fostering a culture focused on accuracy and efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience
- Deep knowledge of accounts payable procedures, controls, and best practices.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and prioritize team workloads.
- Excellent problem-solving aptitude and vendor relationship management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to interact with global stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping principles.
- Exceptional time management and multitasking capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software; familiarity with Business Central 365 preferred.
- Experience working with OCR tools for invoice processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years in an AP manager role within a corporate setting.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and OCR technology for accounts payable.
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capability.
- Background or knowledge of the aircraft leasing industry is advantageous.
