About the Role
Join Salesforce's Controllership Shared Services Center (SSC) in Hyderabad as an Accountant or Senior Accountant, contributing to a fast-moving, innovative finance environment. Collaborate within the accounting team and across Finance & Strategy, Revenue Recognition, Revenue Operations, Treasury, Tax, and Compliance. This role centers on revenue accounting, applying US GAAP standards, managing general ledger activities, month-end and quarter-end closes, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting quarterly and annual financial reporting and audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly close processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytical reporting.
- Prepare accounting transactions related to revenue, accounts receivable, and liabilities, including reserve calculations and non-standard entries.
- Analyze monthly and quarterly financial statement fluctuations for management use.
- Support external reporting processes such as 10-Q and 10-K by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to provide financial insights and support business partners.
- Develop and maintain SOX compliance documentation and controls execution, including Evidence and Application Evidence (EAE).
- Coordinate internal and external audits, including SOX testing and quarterly reviews.
- Engage with regional and international accounting groups to enhance processes and ensure alignment.
- Understand new financial processes promptly and collaborate with owners to meet deadlines and communicate updates.
- Document processes and deliver on ad-hoc assignments and special projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and deadline orientation.
- At least 3 years of experience focused on revenue accounting and applying US GAAP standards.
- Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance; semi-qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent is desirable.
- Experience with SOX control documentation and compliance execution.
- Proven expertise in reviewing purchase orders from an accounting perspective and processing accruals accurately.
- Familiar with general ledger accounting practices, especially related to purchase order workflows and accrual analysis.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, with a willingness to learn new tools such as Workday Financials, Blackline, eGRC360, Tableau, Hyperion, Microsoft Excel, and Slack.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication capabilities.
- A commitment to process improvements and automation in financial operations.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to work independently in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
