Accountant

Overview

HireIQ is seeking an Accountant based in Greater Dublin to join its finance function. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role focuses on delivering reliable financial reporting, management accounts, and commercial analysis, while ensuring financial controls remain robust.

This opportunity is well suited to a newly qualified accountant who wants to develop further in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Carry out balance sheet reconciliations and post journals.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Review financial results, identify variances, and dig into the reasons behind them.
• Support budgeting and forecasting exercises.
• Prepare VAT returns and help with statutory reporting obligations.
• Keep accounting records accurate and maintain effective internal controls.
• Support audits by preparing and supplying the required documentation.
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and support.
• Contribute to improvements in processes and reporting.

Experience and Requirements

• You should be a newly qualified accountant holding a recognised professional qualification.
• Prior exposure to financial accounting or management accounting is required.
• A solid grasp of accounting standards and financial control principles is expected.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems or accounting software is needed.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential; experience with Power BI is a plus.
• You should have good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills are important.
• Clear communication and stakeholder management skills are required.
• You must be able to work on your own as well as effectively within a collaborative finance team.
