Role overview
Jazeera Airways is looking for a seasoned and commercially sharp finance leader to head the Finance function for its new operation in Saudi Arabia. This position is central to protecting financial health, improving cost efficiency, managing liquidity, and backing commercial decisions. The role will also track airline performance on an ongoing basis and share insights with the CEO, Board, and other key stakeholders.
Strategy
- Shape and deliver the financial plan in line with the wider corporate strategy and long-term expansion goals, with a strong focus on profitability, working capital efficiency, and shareholder value.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team.
- Partner with the Commercial team to assess new markets, partnerships, and investment opportunities that can improve earnings.
- Ensure charter revenue lines are aligned with the broader network strategy.
Financial stewardship
- Track business performance against agreed benchmarks and share regular updates with stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes.
- Oversee major cost areas such as fuel, maintenance, crew, and airport-related charges.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
- Compare performance with industry norms and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Create financial models and pricing approaches for charter operations.
- Safeguard profitability and manage risk for ad-hoc and contracted charter business.
Treasury and capital management
- Handle the airline’s financing needs, including non-fund-based facilities.
- Maintain effective cash flow control and liquidity planning.
- Oversee the structuring, negotiation, and completion of purchase agreements.
- Manage relationships with banks, lessors, investors, and other financial institutions.
Financial reporting and governance
- Ensure financial statements, investor reports, and statutory accounting records are prepared on time.
- Maintain compliance with IFRS and all relevant regulatory obligations.
- Supervise internal controls, risk frameworks, internal audit, regulatory compliance, and external audit activities.
Risk management
- Create and implement a policy for financial risk management.
- Oversee company-wide financial risks, including fuel price movements, foreign exchange exposure, and interest rate risk.
- Ensure proper governance and oversight of hedging strategies where needed.
Leadership
- Lead, develop, and plan succession for a high-performing Finance team while encouraging collaboration and ownership.
- Set clear objectives, give regular feedback, and align team priorities with the airline’s strategic direction.
- Position Finance as a business enabler rather than only a control function.
- Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for the CEO, Executive Committee, and Board as required.
Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant, CFA, or MBA in Finance.
- At least 15 years of experience in the aviation sector; experience in the GCC region will be an advantage.
- Background in Board and investor reporting.
- Demonstrated strength in financial leadership and strategic planning.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership capability in negotiation, building consensus, and driving results.
- Prior experience setting up or scaling a Finance function during an airline launch or growth stage will be preferred.

This is a senior full-time onsite role based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The position is focused on supporting a new venture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
