Job description

About the company

Halter is building technology that helps farmers and graziers lift productivity while operating more sustainably. The company exists to remove many of the time-heavy limitations of traditional farming, enabling customers to manage livestock in a smarter, more efficient way. Halter is focused on meaningful work, ambitious problem-solving, and high performance, supported by a strong team culture and major investors.

About the role

Halter is seeking a high-performing Account Manager to support the North Waikato region. This role is central to customer success and the growth of the business in the area, working with leading dairy farms and helping them get the most from Halter’s platform. You will act as the main contact for customers, support adoption on farm, and help drive better outcomes for productivity and sustainability.

The position can be based anywhere within North Waikato, and regular travel across the region is expected.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of retention, renewal, and expansion goals for existing regional revenue.
  • Help farmers realise the full value of the product and understand how it affects their business outcomes.
  • Manage customer renewals and look for opportunities to grow revenue through value-added support.
  • Support onboarding, training, and implementation of the system across customer farms.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with farmers, their teams, and families.
  • Partner with customers to define business goals, timelines, priorities, and success measures.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to technical and operational issues faced by farmers and teams.
  • Represent the brand locally, facilitate discussion groups, and strengthen community connections.
  • Serve as the customer voice and share on-the-ground insights with product teams.
  • Work with product teams to provide practical input on reproduction, pasture, and agronomy from a farming perspective.
  • Contribute positively to the team and model the company’s operating principles.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with account management experience, a strong commercial mindset, and genuine interest in agriculture. The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and motivated to help farmers succeed in a fast-moving environment.

Benefits

  • Southern Cross Health Insurance support for employee wellbeing.
  • 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers.
  • 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave, plus other family-focused benefits.
  • Wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
  • A $1,000 personal growth fund to support learning and development.

Additional information

Halter encourages applications from people who may not meet every single requirement, and values a diverse and inclusive workplace. Applicants are asked to submit a cover letter explaining their interest in the role and in working at Halter, along with a CV.
