Job description

About the Role

This position is for a field-focused DxRM Account Manager covering an assigned territory in Ireland. The role centers on building strategic partnerships with customers across industrial, testing, academia, and pharma segments. The successful candidate will provide solutions that support customer workflows, improve continuity of supply, and strengthen operational performance. A key objective is to grow the business within existing accounts by uncovering unmet needs, expanding share of wallet, and creating new opportunities in collaboration with DxRM specialists.

The role also carries responsibility for sales and gross profit delivery across the assigned geography, with accountability for meeting commercial targets and managing the assigned customer portfolio.

Key Duties

  • Deliver or outperform sales goals for the DxRM portfolio.
  • Prepare timely and precise sales forecasts at agreed intervals.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their processes, challenges, and quality needs, then recommend solutions that improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Use customer insights and data to shape account growth plans that deepen loyalty and increase revenue within each account.
  • Spot opportunities to broaden product and service usage across current customers and embed more of the portfolio into their operations.
  • Feed customer challenges and application insights back to DxRM R&D and product teams to support innovation.
  • Use Salesforce CRM and digital analytics tools to monitor engagement, predict demand, and identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Track competitor activity, product positioning, and market trends.
  • Represent the business at trade shows when required.
  • Advise customers on the most suitable DxRM products for their applications.
  • Provide both commercial and technical support for DxRM offerings.
  • Handle customer queries, plant audits, and contract discussions.
  • Operate effectively in a complex matrixed organisation.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant has a scientific or business background and several years of field-based sales experience in DxRM, pharma, IVD, or industrial markets. They should be confident working across the industrial product development and manufacturing chain, the clinical testing development chain, or the pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing chain. A solid understanding of scientific procedures, testing methods, and equipment is essential, along with the ability to diagnose needs and recommend appropriate products.

Success in this role also requires disciplined use of CRM systems, experience handling RFPs, tenders, supply agreements, and quality agreements, and a proven ability to forecast accurately, deliver quota, and generate a strong pipeline. The role calls for commercial strength, negotiation capability, strong communication skills, and the confidence to work independently in a multicultural environment. Regular travel is required, and the role expects the person to spend four days a week in the field for face-to-face customer meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline such as Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry, or a degree in Business.
  • An advanced degree is an advantage, and an MBA is especially desirable.
  • At least 5 years of field sales experience with DxRM, pharma, IVD, or industrial customers.
  • Experience across one of the following value chains: industrial product development and manufacturing, clinical testing development, or pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of scientific procedures, testing approaches, and related equipment.
  • Proven experience using CRM systems and managing RFPs, tenders, supply agreements, and quality agreements.
  • Track record of highly accurate forecasting, steady quota attainment, above-market growth, and strong pipeline generation.
  • Ability to support pricing discussions with sound business cases and achieve favourable price outcomes within guidance.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent organisation, time management, and communication skills.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to negotiate long-term supply arrangements.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable working independently and across cultures.
  • Willingness to travel within the territory and conduct customer meetings in person and virtually.
  • Available for in-field customer visits four days per week.
