Role overview
The Enterprise Account Executive for the Federal Government segment is a driven sales professional who thrives on building new business and growing existing accounts. This role calls for someone who learns quickly, adapts with ease, and works well in situations with some uncertainty. Success in the position depends on winning new customers or expanding adoption of Docusign products and services within current accounts, while consistently delivering against monthly and quarterly targets. The role works closely with internal teams and partner networks to improve customer usage, manage opportunities proactively, and keep forecasts accurate. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the RVP Enterprise Sales.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to company objectives by meeting individual sales targets.
- Assess opportunities using Docusign’s sales approach and qualification standards, including customer fit and success measures.
- Source, develop, and close new federal business while also managing current relationships to support renewals and retention.
- Create account plans and tailored strategies for each target account.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline through proactive prospecting within the Federal Government sector.
- Use internal experts and teams effectively in campaigns, including senior leaders, presales, professional services, customer success managers, and MDRs.
- Collaborate with key partners to present joint value propositions and strengthen sales outcomes.
- Track and forecast sales activity and revenue accurately using the appropriate sales tools.
What you should bring
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of direct enterprise sales experience in a quota-carrying SaaS software sales role, or SI experience supporting large federal departments in an account management capacity.
- Hands-on experience with common business applications, including Salesforce.com, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- A history of exceeding sales quotas is preferred.
- Experience handling and closing complex sales cycles, including larger deals alongside smaller recurring business.
- A strong professional network in Canberra is preferred.
- Based in Canberra is preferred.
Work arrangement
This is a remote position. The employee is not expected to work frequently from an office and will primarily operate from a designated remote location. The company uses role-based job designations such as in-office, hybrid, and remote, and these may change based on business needs and local law.
