Job description
About the Role
LinkedIn is the world’s biggest professional network, designed to help people create economic opportunity across the global workforce. Its products are built to help members connect meaningfully, find new opportunities, strengthen their skills, and access useful insights every day. The company also places strong emphasis on employee development and aims to foster a culture grounded in trust, care, inclusion, and fun.
This position is based in Dublin, Ireland. The working model is hybrid, which means the role will be split between home and a LinkedIn office on selected days depending on team and business needs.
The Account Director will act as a dependable advisor to mid-market customers, with a strong focus on creating value through LinkedIn’s Talent and Learning solutions. The role centers on helping customers grow, improving their use of the platform, and identifying expansion opportunities. While the position requires a strategic, revenue-focused sales mindset, the candidate must consistently prioritize the customer’s best interests and serve as an internal champion for their success.
Key Responsibilities
- Use thoughtful, open questions to uncover customer goals and challenges in depth.
- Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders at different levels and across functions within the customer organization.
- Adapt communication style and messaging to suit the audience being engaged.
- Sell in a principled and transparent manner.
- Support customer decisions by building a shared vision and linking value propositions across stakeholders.
- Apply commercial judgment and business understanding when creating and negotiating agreements.
- Rely on data and insights to justify investment recommendations and address objections.
- Reduce churn risk proactively through a customer-focused approach.
- Keep customers engaged to validate value, refine strategy when needed, and improve return on investment.
- Identify opportunities that can increase customer value and support account growth.
- Map key contacts within the account to assess relationship strength and shape outreach plans.
- Maintain discipline in territory planning, account planning, forecasting, and quota delivery.
Requirements
- Strong command of English and Dutch.
- At least 2 years of relevant sales experience.
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in a related discipline is preferred.
- Background in account management is preferred.
- Well-developed negotiation abilities and accurate forecasting capability.
- Experience managing revenue targets and building strategies that produce measurable results.
- Ability to evaluate business opportunities and understand prospective buyers.
- Comfort working with multiple partners and leadership stakeholders, using competitive selling to position products against direct and indirect alternatives.
