Role overview

The Account Director will act as a dependable advisor to mid-market customers, with a strong focus on creating value for clients using Talent and Learning solutions. The role centers on helping customers achieve stronger outcomes, identifying growth opportunities, and maintaining a strategic, customer-first approach while still working toward revenue targets.

Responsibilities

  • Use thoughtful, open-ended questioning to uncover customer goals and pain points in depth.
  • Develop strong connections with stakeholders across different levels and functions within client organizations.
  • Adjust communication style and message to suit varied stakeholder audiences.
  • Sell in a principled and trustworthy manner.
  • Guide customer decisions by aligning stakeholders around a shared vision and presenting relevant value propositions.
  • Apply commercial thinking and business understanding when preparing and negotiating agreements.
  • Back recommendations and objection handling with data and insights.
  • Reduce churn risk proactively through a smart, customer-focused approach.
  • Continuously validate customer value and adapt the strategy when needed to maximize return on investment.
  • Identify opportunities that can expand customer value and support growth.
  • Map key decision-makers and influencers within each account and build an effective outreach plan.
  • Maintain discipline in territory planning, account planning, forecasting, and quota delivery.

Requirements

  • Strong command of both English and Dutch.
  • At least 2 years of relevant sales experience.
  • Preferred: a BA/BS degree or an equivalent qualification in a related area.
  • Preferred: background in account management.
  • Preferred: solid negotiation abilities and accurate forecasting skills.
  • Preferred: experience managing a revenue target and building strategies that deliver outcomes.
  • Preferred: ability to evaluate business opportunities and understand prospective buyers.
  • Preferred: experience involving multiple partners and management stakeholders in competitive selling situations.
