This opportunity is a 2-month full-time contract position based onsite in Manhattan, New York City. The role is designed for a motivated Associate Designer specializing in Men's Accessories to assist the design team throughout product development including bags, small leather goods, belts, trims, hardware, and other accessories.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform market, vintage, and trend research to aid seasonal concept development for accessories.
- Create mood boards, presentation assets, and aid with visual merchandising setup.
- Produce hand sketches, illustrations, technical drawings, and color CADs for various men's accessories.
- Maintain technical packs detailing hardware, trims, and assembly instructions.
- Handle product data and documentation within Centric PLM or comparable platforms for product lifecycle management.
- Generate correction specifications and clearly communicate design updates across teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups including Design, Product Development, Technical Design, and Merchandising for prototype creation and product delivery.
- Organize product imagery and related documentation for internal use.
- Maintain systematic sample rooms, material collections, and presentation areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accessories Design or a related discipline.
- Between 2 and 5 years in accessories design or related fields.
- Strong understanding of bag construction, materials, hardware, and accessory trims.
- Experienced in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, and Centric PLM or similar systems.
- Skilled in technical drawing and manual sketching.
- Keen organizational skills, excellent communication, and detail-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of Rhino 3D or SolidWorks considered a plus.
- Mock-up creation and handcrafting skills are advantageous.
