Job description
About the Program
Siemens designs technologies that improve daily life for people everywhere. In Australia, where the country contributes about 1% of global emissions, the company focuses on helping customers achieve more with fewer resources by cutting energy use, lowering emissions, and supporting industries that can build a cleaner, smarter, and fairer future.
By connecting the physical and digital worlds, Siemens enables customers to reshape industries and markets while creating positive outcomes for communities around the globe. The company places strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and inclusion.
This graduate pathway is scheduled to begin in February 2027 and is intended for motivated engineering graduates who bring new thinking and a willingness to learn. The program is a 2-year development journey, and successful applicants will become permanent team members from day one.
Suitable Disciplines
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
Program Structure
Rather than moving through short rotations, you will work within a team long enough to build meaningful relationships, deepen technical knowledge, and see the effect of your contribution over time. The program is designed to develop not only engineering capability, but also commercial awareness, confidence, and the ability to influence others while contributing to projects with local and international impact.
Graduate Opportunity
The available pathway is in Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering across Brisbane and Sydney. In this role, you will build technical and commercial experience by working with both operational and sales teams. You will gain practical exposure to designing, selling, and delivering solutions for human-centred autonomous buildings.
You will collaborate with customers and technical specialists to solve real-world challenges in building automation, HVAC, controls, and networking systems. The role also helps you develop skills in creating proposals, selling strategically, engaging stakeholders, and supporting project delivery, all while linking technology solutions to measurable business outcomes.
What You Can Expect
- 36 hours of learning and development time each year
- Permanent employment from the first day, plus a structured 2-year development program
- Hybrid working with the ability to work from home 2 to 3 days per week
- Paid volunteering leave to support causes you care about
- Family-oriented policies, including up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave
- Team events, celebrations, and activities that help you build connections and expand your network
About You
You do not need to arrive with every answer. The program is built to help you learn. Siemens is seeking graduates who are curious, creative, adaptable, and eager to grow. You should be comfortable in a fast-moving environment, enjoy problem-solving, and want to make a meaningful contribution.
Eligibility
- You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or hold Australian permanent residency, when you apply
- You must have finished an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the last 3 years (2024, 2025, or 2026), or be on track to complete your degree by the end of January 2027
- You must be able to start full-time work in February 2027
Workplace and Inclusion
Siemens aims to build a workplace that reflects the communities it serves, with fair access to opportunity for everyone and a commitment to listening to every voice. The company promotes a safe and inclusive environment and continues to strengthen its practices through initiatives such as its Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, cultural celebrations, LGBTQIA+ learning and support, and gender equity efforts.
If you need reasonable adjustments or accommodations during recruitment, Siemens asks that you let them know.
