The internship offers a hands-on chance to explore a career in your chosen field while spending your summer break productively. Targeted at students who have completed their penultimate year, the program runs from mid-November following exams through early February, with a mid-term break over Christmas and New Year. Interns participate in a two-day induction to familiarize themselves with Deloitte’s culture and expectations and join a collaborative cohort of over 150 peers to build foundational career skills.
Deloitte integrates cutting-edge innovations, including responsible AI use, helping you foster adaptability and competencies tailored for the evolving workplace of tomorrow. Throughout the internship, proactive mentorship and feedback are provided, potentially leading to graduate role offers post-internship.

Role Overview

The IT Controls Assurance team collaborates closely with financial auditors to grasp client business structures, strategies, IT systems, and associated risks. Keeping up to date with emerging IT environments, the team aids in shaping audit plans that mitigate financial risks linked to technology use. This role involves evaluating IT control governance maturity for clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute creative solutions to enhance client processes, valuing diverse approaches to problem-solving.
  • Assist clients in complying with regulatory demands, thereby assuring Boards and Directors regarding effective regulatory management.
  • Support clients confronting challenges related to corporate governance, risk management, and sustainability.

Candidate Profile

  • No prior experience is necessary; exposure through part-time roles or internships in IT, finance/accounting, business analytics, law, or customer service is advantageous.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, preferably in IT, Data Science, Commerce/Business, Science, or Law with focus areas such as Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Statistics.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with enthusiasm for learning about emerging technologies and risk management frameworks. Technical proficiencies are beneficial but not essential as training is available.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and resilience, showing the capability to navigate challenges with diligence, exhibits meticulous attention to detail and inquisitiveness to problem-solve and embrace change.

Application Requirements

  • A current curriculum vitae.
  • Academic transcript showing recent grades, your full name, and institution name (official status not mandatory).
  • Legal authorization to live and work in Aotearoa (New Zealand).
