Job Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of assigned patient and public areas, including trash removal and surface sanitization
• Stocking cleaning supplies, paper goods, and other necessary items in designated areas
• Demonstrating thorough knowledge of infection control, isolation protocols, and cleaning equipment operation
• Using the Bed Management system with handheld devices to facilitate efficient patient bed flow
• Operating equipment such as cleaning carts and managing soiled linens for collection
• Proper disposal of routine and biohazardous waste; disinfecting contaminated areas in adherence to facility standards
• Documenting all cleaning activities accurately
• Accessing various facility areas including ancillary units, restrooms, and offices as assigned
• Performing additional duties as required

Qualifications and Skills

• Familiarity with standard procedures and concepts in environmental services
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and workspaces
• Basic English communication skills
• Proficiency with computers including keyboard and mouse operations
• Capability to use standard office software
• Strong customer service orientation and effective patient interaction
• Ability to comprehend Safety Data Sheets, product labels, reports, and perform fundamental arithmetic
• Reliable following of oral and written instructions and solid grasp of environmental duties
• Previous experience in healthcare cleaning preferred
• Knowledge of additional languages is an asset

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Housekeeping or custodial experience considered a plus

Additional Details

• Salary range: $15.31 to $24.49 per hour
• Subject to Florida Level 2 background screening and fingerprinting as mandated by law
