Role Overview
We are seeking a General Accountant to support our Finance and Administration team by managing daily accounting functions. This role reports directly to the Finance Director and involves a broad range of responsibilities including billing, accounts payable, payroll, and additional accounting support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete billing cycles covering fees, sub-consultants, and disbursement charges.
- Create and update billing details within ERP systems and associated tools.
- Collect and systematically organize project-related expense receipts.
- Prepare monthly billing reports and conduct project and billing reconciliations.
- Issue invoices and client account statements adhering to monthly schedules.
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices for payment.
- Evaluate employee expense reports with accompanying documentation.
- Maintain well-organized electronic filing systems for invoices and payment records.
- Support monthly reconciliations of corporate credit cards.
- Process bi-weekly payroll, monitoring timesheet completion via the ERP system.
- Input payroll information into Desjardins payroll software and process employee reimbursements.
- Maintain schedules and documentation for fixed assets.
- Assist with accounting tasks related to month-end and year-end closings.
- Perform various administrative and accounting duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formatting.
- Between 2 to 5 years of practical accounting experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize effectively while communicating clearly with team members and other stakeholders.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach to work.
Compensation
The annual salary ranges from $50,000 to $55,000 on a pro-rated basis.
