About the Role

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) manages eight major toll facilities across Maryland, including bridges, tunnels, and turnpikes, ensuring safe and efficient transportation. The Administrative Assistant III position supports the MDTA Police Quartermaster Unit, performing complex administrative tasks requiring independent judgment related to purchasing, invoice management, and office support.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process purchase orders for meal chits and invoices.
  • Coordinate requests for supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Utilize the State Purchasing Card to handle and reconcile monthly invoices.
  • Track, review, and process vendor invoices to guarantee timely payments.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance personnel regarding invoice payments and procurement activities.
  • Manage mail sorting and distribution and monitor the Quartermaster email inbox.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card logs alongside purchasing documents.
  • Maintain organized records, files, and correspondence related to purchasing and administrative duties.
  • Provide additional administrative support as directed by the Quartermaster Commander.

Work Details

This role reports to the MDTA Police First Sergeant or a designated authority. The current vacancy is located in Baltimore County, Maryland, with potential availability of hybrid telework schedules. This recruitment may also fill future openings within MDTA.
