Cashier

Overview

This position is based at a gas bar retail location in Cold Lake, Alberta, requiring onsite presence with no remote work option.

Languages

Proficiency in English is required.

Education

• Completion of secondary (high) school or equivalent experience is necessary.

Experience

No prior experience is needed, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate the electronic cash register and Interac payment machine.
• Handle various payment methods including cash, cheques, credit, and debit cards.
• Scan merchandise, receive payment, and package items for customers.
• Calculate and reconcile daily payments with total sales.
• Conduct suggestive selling and provide customer assistance including self-checkout support.
• Maintain stocked shelves and ensure the cleanliness of the checkout area.
• Greet customers and monitor store entrances/exits, requesting proof of payment as needed.
• Verify customer age when selling age-restricted products such as lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco.
